Are you a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV)? Did you ever meet or work with a Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) overseas? Have you ever worked for the Peace Corps? In what ways has this organization affected your life or the lives of people you know?
On the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, the Peace Corps—with the help of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage—wants to collect and preserve oral histories from anyone with a connection to the organization.
Please visit the Oral Histories Tent at the Festival and share a memory or reflection. If you are an RPCV, you can tell us about your country of service, the people you worked alongside, or the culture in which you immersed yourself. If you are a family member or have known a PCV, you can tell us about what you have learned from them.
Oral histories help bring the past into the present, sometimes more directly and vividly than written history. Please share your voice.
