Diz Russell of Sonny Til’s Orioles

Vocalist Albert “Diz” Russell of Sonny Til’s Orioles talks about Duke Ellington, the history of doo-wop, and the birth of rock and roll.

Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the Orioles have been called “the first R&B vocal group.” They performed during the first week of the Festival. To find out more about them, click here.

    Their performance was great but the CD I bought at the MarketPlace was completely empty. Nothing on it at all.
