The Dimen Dong Folk Chorus Performs the Cicada Song

The Dimen Dong Folk Chorus from the Guizhou Province of China performs an excerpt of the cicada song, in which the singers mimic the sound of an insect commonly found in their village. The song is among the classics of the Dong folk repertoire. This performance is a preview of the 2014 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, which will feature the culture of China.
