Central American Food

1. Chicken and Rice (Arroz con Pollo)

Rice with chicken is a traditional dish throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The dish offered here is a particular style from El Salvador but has commonalities with similar traditional dishes in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and among immigrant communities in the United States.

2. Deep Fried Pork (Chicharrón)

Pork is a traditional meat served throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Yuca, also known as cassava or sweet manioc, is a root vegetable indigenous to the coastal and rainforest regions of Latin America and the Caribbean. The dish served here is prepared in the tradition of El Salvador.

3. Homemade Pupusas

Latin America has different variants on corn patties, a food with indigenous roots. In El Salvador, they are called pupusas and are usually filled with beans, cheese, and pork. In Mexico, corn patties come in various forms: tortillas, gorditas, and quesadillas. And in Colombia and Venezuela, there are arepas.

4. Fried Plantains (Plátanos Fritos)

Fried plantains are traditional to the coastal and rainforest regions of Latin America and the Caribbean.
