Beautiful photos from our Festival visitors are starting to flood onto Flickr. We’ve put together a gallery of a few of our favorite visitor images from day two of the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Check it out!

You can upload and share your own photographs to the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival Flickr Group. We select a gallery of our favorites every day, and take them to a wider audience by featuring them on our Festival blog.

If you’ve been thinking about adding your images to our Flickr group, now’s the time! This is your chance to see your work featured as part of the Folklife Festival’s virtual presence. Photographers selected for the final Best of the Festival Gallery will receive free Festival merchandise in acknowledgement of their contributions.

Be sure to tag your photos #2013Folklife.

Returning to moderate the Flickr Group and select the galleries for the third year in a row is Ariel Fielding, a former Folklife Festival Fellow in Community and Online Engagement. Ariel first learned to use an SLR camera and a darkroom at the age of six, and has an enduring interest in documentary photography. She recently collaborated with photographer Michael Barker on ‘ALPHA Alternative School 1972/2012,’ an ethnographic art project based on environmental portraiture.
